I love pasta, but not the extra carbs; it’s so hard for me not to reach for seconds. So I had to make a better option. I love volume when it comes to food so I decided to add zoodles to my pasta. Not only are we getting our green veggies in our pasta, but also enjoying the food we love.
I am a firm believer in recreating our favorite recipes for healthy options instead of giving them up. Ground turkey is the protein option I love and prefer, but you can switch it up with ground chicken or beef.
This recipe has become a staple to my meal planning and my family loves it too!

Ground turkey spaghetti with a twist
This pasta recipe is so great to add volume to your meal. If you are watching your carbs, but also love pasta, adding zoodles is a great way to get more volume instead of the extra carbs.

Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground turkey 93%
- 1 Jar Low sugar spaghetti sauce
- 1 bag Zoodles
- 1/2 Box of pasta
- Low skim mozzarella cheese
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Thyme
Instructions
- In a medium, pan bring water to boil and cook your pasta per package instructions. In a skillet, saute the ground turkey and add salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme. Cook thoroughly, then add your pasta sauce and let it simmer for 15 mins on low. In another skillet cook your zoodles - keep an eye on them they cook quickly and you don't want to overcook them.
